3 Essential Connection Checks
- Identify the thread: provide the exact designation shown on the drawing or existing component. A general reference to an API connection is not enough to establish a match.
- Confirm the mating pin: identify the component that will engage with the internal thread. Include its part reference and relevant drawing dimensions so both sides of the joint can be reviewed together.
- Review the complete assembly: confirm the connection arrangement and the rating of the selected swivel and attached tooling. The capacity of one component does not establish the allowable capacity of the whole assembly.
