Double Clevis Connection options from North Star support HDD swivel assemblies. Our swivel range is described as 10–100 tons and includes clevis, pulling-eye and threaded connection styles. The table below lists selected double-clevis examples; it does not list every capacity in the wider range. Keep swivels clean and greased, and never exceed the rated pullback capacity of the selected assembly.

Double Clevis Connection: 3 Essential Selection Checks

1. Connection fit: compare the clevis arrangement, pin diameter and mating-tool dimensions.
2. Rated capacity: identify the selected swivel rating and the limits of the connected tooling.
3. Assembly condition: check the swivel, pins and retaining components before use.

Match the Connection to Your Existing Tooling

Start with the equipment already used on the project. Send a drawing, a clear photograph or an existing part reference showing the mating connection. A product name alone does not establish compatibility. The Double Clevis Connection must be reviewed as part of the complete assembly, including the parts attached at both ends.

Record the dimensions needed to compare the proposed connection with the existing tooling. Identify pin diameter, clevis opening and the available assembly space where these dimensions are relevant. Do not use the overall outside diameter in the reference table as a substitute for a pin or opening dimension. Ask for confirmation of any dimension that is not shown.

Read the Swivel Reference Table Correctly

The table identifies example sizes, outside diameters, overall lengths, connection styles and North Star part numbers. Use the part number together with the connection description when requesting a quotation. If an existing part carries a different reference, include that reference and a drawing rather than assuming that a similar size means the connections match.

The capacity description for the wider swivel range should not be applied automatically to an individual table row. Confirm the rating of the exact assembly being supplied. A higher rig pullback capability does not increase the allowable capacity of a swivel or its connected components. The selected components must be reviewed together for the intended application.

Prepare a Useful Double Clevis Connection Enquiry

Include the rig model, intended application, requested quantity and connection arrangement. State which existing components must remain compatible. Provide the required dimensions and any installation constraints. This gives the technical team a practical basis for reviewing the proposed configuration before a quotation is confirmed.

Where a dimension or rating is uncertain, identify it clearly in the enquiry. A marked drawing can distinguish confirmed dimensions from measurements that still need checking. Review the quoted configuration and the supplied documentation before placing the order. Keep the confirmed part number with the project records for future replacement enquiries.

Care and Operating Limits

The existing product guidance calls for clean, greased swivels and operation within the rated pullback capacity. Follow the instructions supplied with the selected assembly. Confirm inspection and lubrication requirements with North Star when ordering. Do not infer a maintenance interval, grease specification or permissible operating load from the general product description.
